As previously posted on the  Programme website, Ministry of Regional Development, Forestry and Water Management (MRDFWM) and the Joint Technical Secretariat (JTS) of the IPA Cross Border Programme Croatia - Bosnia and Herzegovina announced plan to organize workshops related to preparation of project proposals in September 2010th. The workshops aim to provide technical assistance to potential users in the preparation of project proposals. All workshops are planned in Programme area in Croatia. Number of workshops as well as exact location will be adapted in line with number and geographic location of participants. Given the large number of expression of interest and numerous requests for a postponement of date when workshops were planed it was decided that the workshop will be held in October 2010th and that the deadline for expression of interest is extended to 10 September 2010th.

May 27^th 2010.

We would like to inform you that the regional technical assistance project CBIB will organise workshops on Project Cycle Management (PCM workshops) in June 2010 in Bosnia and Herzegovina for all potential applicants. We encourage all potential applicant from Programme area to participate in trainings according to the following schedule:

02.-04.06.2010. in Banja Luka, and dates for the remaining trainings in Doboj, Mostar, Trebinje and Tuzla will be determined in the first week of June. (read more on: http://cbib-eu.org/google_calendar/ ).

A whole day informational and educational event – Day of opportunities through the EU funds „Croatia in Europe, Europe for Croatia“ has been held on Thursday, 15 April 2010 from 11.00 to 19.00 hours in the Mimara Museum. This event has been open for general public, civil society organisations, educational institutions, private sector… in other words all those interested in the EU funds. Objective of this event was to inform the visitors about the possibilities of using the EU funds through individual comunication with experts at Information desks, as well to present positive practice in implementation of EU projects trough photo exhibition of projects financed under pre-accession funds.

A tool for publishing and review of project ideas trough Programme web-site has been presented. The primary goal of this interactive tool is to give potential applicants the opportunity to share project ideas and to establish mutual contacts.
We invite all potential applicants to submit project ideas through a simple on-line form in order to show their points of interest to all potential partners and to provide potential partners with contact data as a base for establishment of partnership and future cooperation. The primary goal of Partner Search Forums is to encourage building of cross-border partnerships by providing potential applicants with the opportunity to establish direct cross-border contacts and to discuss their project ideas, as well as possibilities for future cooperation on project proposals preparation and implementation.

Partner Search Forums will have the same content in all three locations (see the table above). PSFs are targeted in three carefully selected locations in order to cover Programme area.

CBIB is organising the 3^rd Regional CBC Forum that will take place on Januar 28th and 29th, 2010 in Tirana. The Forum will serve as an opportunity for all relevant IPA CBC stakeholders in the Western Balkans and in the European Commission to meet, discuss the first results, lessons learned and best practices of the first round of CfPs for all 8 programmes at 'intra' WB borders as well as next steps in the programme implementation. Participation in the Regional Forum is free of charge, the working language of the meeting is English and no simultaneous translation will be provided. Two Regional Forums (Zagreb, March 2007 and Skopje, June 2008) and two regional coordination meetings (Podgorica, March 2009 and Sarajevo, June 2009) previously organized by CBIS have proven to be efficient means of exchanging information and experience, voicing, issues, finding common solutions and coordinating the process on the regional level. In order to take a look back at the first Calls, extract lessons learned and best practices, CSIS is organizing this event. The main objective of the Forum is to support the ongoing implementation of the IPA CBC programmes through:

a) ensuring feedback for an even more efficient and successful 2^nd round of CfP planned for 2010;

b) providing necessary input for the next steps in the programme cycle.

Furthermore, the 3^rd Regional Forum shall provide the opportunity to:

• present and discuss the conclusions and recommendations stemming from the Assessment of the 1^st CfP on the regional level, thus demonstrating that the process is a learning opportunity for all and that experience gained shall be put to good use in improving the 2^nd round of CfPs;

• provide a direct link with the EC in order to discuss some of the most important points in the upcoming phases of programme implementation: conclusion of the evaluation process, contracting, implementation of first projects and roles of different actors in the process, especially in managing, monitoring and reporting.

 Who should participate?

The target group includes IPA CBC stakeholders in the Region: representatives of Operating Structures, Joint Management Structures (JMC members and JTS and antennae staff), EC Delegations from all WB countries, and the representatives of the European Commission.

Ministry of  Regional Development, Forestry and Water Management (Agency for Regional Development, when operational) of Republic of Croatia and the Delegation of the European Commission to Bosnia and Herzegovina in cooperation with Directorate for European Integration of Bosnia and Herzegovina are seeking Grant Application Proposals within IPA Cross-border Programme Croatia-Bosnia and Herzegovina 2007-2013 (financial assistance from the 2007 and 2008 allocations) with the aim to encourage the creation of cross-border networks and partnerships; to encourage the development of joint cross-border activities with a view to revitalizing the economy, protecting nature and the environment and increasing social cohesion of the programming area. Under this Call for Proposals an indicative amount of 3.600.000 €, equally divided per country, is available for project proposals from both partner Countries (1.800.000€ for Croatia and 1.800.000€ for Bosnia and Herzegovina).
